From 2019 through to 2021 we created audio and video documentary with deliberative engagement specialists Hopkins Van Mil for the National Food Strategy, supported by Sciencewise and UKRI and lead by Henry Dimbleby. This is an independent review commissioned by government to set out a vision and a plan for a better food system.
A broad range of people across England were part of deliberating and discussing the pressing issues facing our local and global food system today and into the future. From farmers, fishers and market traders to asylum seekers and taxi drivers, we talked to people about what food meant to them and their values and challenges, in a year like no other. It was a fascinating journey and we hope the findings will help inform future policy on climate change, food security, health, affordability and beyond.
